The UIB-IdISBa team has strong national and international reputation for highly influential nutrigenomics research, specifically focused to ensure healthier early metabolic programming to prevent or minimize lifestyle-related chronic diseases such as obesity, as well as in the use of blood cells transcriptomics as a source of biomarkers of health and health effects.

It is a member of Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Fisiopatología de la Obesidad y Nutrición (CIBEROBN), a Spanish research center in the field of nutrition and obesity, and member of NuGO, the European research network of excellence on Nutrigenomics.

The UIB-IdISBa team also provides to the consortium integrated competence and expertise in collaborative research in the field and project management (including European projects). The project coordinator, C. Picó, will work in close collaboration with A. Palou (head of the Molecular Biology, Nutrition and Biotechnology laboratory), M.L. Bonet (Vice-Coordinator), and the other group members (9 PhD, and technicians).
